New £50 Polymer Note to be issued on 23rd June 2021
The Bank of England will be issuing the new £50 polymer note which will be the last of the Bank's collection to switch from paper to polymer. The new note will feature the computer pioneer and codebreaker Alan Turing. The banknote will enter circulation on 23 June, which would have been the mathematician's birthday.
The polymer notes are much harder to counterfeit, and with its security features the new £50 is part of most secure series of banknotes. The withdrawal date of old £50 note is not yet announced and until then you will still be able to use it.
